Learn about the humble beginnings of Shenandoah and the surrounding communities. The area is rich with history that comes alive in the stories of courageous, hard-working people who laid the foundations for where we live today.

Military History

Enjoy an exhibit of authentic, period military uniforms ranging from World War I to the present, along with flags, accessories, and historical documents. Coming soon: a display to honor our area veterans, with photos and descriptions of their service.

David the Bubble Boy Exhibit

Be inspired by the brave story of young David Vetter, a Shenandoah resident who spent his short life in a sterile environment as he battled a rare disease. A facility at the Texas Children's Hospital is named in his honor, where extensive progress has been made in studying and treating his disease.
