Recruiting and Professional Standards

 

Assistant Chief of Police Bryan Carlisle heads up the Shenandoah Police Department's Recruiting and Professional Standards efforts. These initiatives encompass the Texas Police Chiefs Association Foundation (TPCAF) Law Enforcement Recognition Program, Public Information and Media Relations efforts, Recruiting, Background Investigation, and Internal Affairs.In 2007, the Shenandoah Police Department became the first CALEA Accredited Law Enforcement Agency in Montgomery County. In 2009, the Shenandoah Police Department became the 12th TPCA Recognized Law Enforcement Agency and the first municipal Law Enforcement Agency in Texas to be both CALEA Accredited and TPCA Recognized. Currently, The Shenandoah Police Department is a TPCA Foundation Recognized Law Enforcement Agency and a leader in modern professional law enforcement practices.

Recruiting

 

The Shenandoah Police Department is currently accepting applications for the position of Police Officer.

 

Entrance testing will be conducted on Friday, March 30, 2012, at 9:00 AM, beginning at the Shenandoah Municipal Complex located at 29955 IH 45 North, Shenandoah, TX 77381. Applicant testing will consist of both a Physical Fitness and Written Exam. 

 

All police applicants must have successfully completed a Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officers Standards and Education (TCLEOSE) approved Basic Peace Officer Academy and passed the TCLEOSE Peace Officer Exam PRIOR to applying with the Shenandoah Police Department. Additionally, all applicants must possess a High School diploma or equivalent and a valid Texas Driver's License.
